Our Red Fife wheat berries are sourced from Certified Organic farmers.

Vitimines, minerals, and fatty acids break down quickly in whole milled flour making it go rancid in less than 2 weeks. The best way to ensure that your flour retains all of its nutrients is to mill it yourself right before you bake.

That way all the parts of the wheat berry (bran, germ, endosperm) are milled through a stone flour mill right in your kitchen. It literally doesn't get more fresh than that.

Fresh, nutritious, whole flour has a delicious whole food taste that you can be proud to prepare your favourite recipe with.

If your ready to start milling your own flour then whole wheat berries are for you.

Red Fife is an heirloom variety that was developed in 1842 in Peterborough Ontario. it has a lower gluten content than hard red so it is best mixed with hard red for rising breads, or used in non-rising breads. However it does well when used in sourdough recipes.

When Red Fife was developed in Ontario by Davide Fife, yeast was not available to buy so sourdough would have been the way that bread was made to rise in traditional kitchens of that time.

May Contain traces of Wheat, Soy, Peanuts, and Tree Nuts
