We run a beekeeping operation with around 300 colonies in the Municipality of Meaford and the Beaver Valley. For the past five years, we’ve been working on regenerative beekeeping systems and selective breeding, learning how to work with our bees rather than against them.

This course is for gardeners, not beekeepers. It’s about understanding honeybees and creating a honeybee-friendly space that gives them what they need. You don’t need to keep bees to make a difference.

We’ll cover:

  • How honeybees develop and what their life cycle looks like
  • What nutrition they need for growth and survival
  • Which flowers are best for providing that nutrition
  • What we can plant to make a difference
  • What else we can do to help the bees beyond planting
